Second Directors General and senior managers meeting organized by CEP
For the second online meeting that CEP organized for Directors General in Probation and their senior managers in the afternoon of 22nd October, 36 participants from 22 different jurisdictions had signed up and came together via Zoom. The aim of the meeting was once again (like in June) to share experiences and talk about the (changed) work circumstances due to Covid-19: the state of play in Autumn 2020.
Presentations were given on the following three topics:
- Providing suitable probation programs for service users (by Goran Brkic, Croatia)
- Managing staff and organization (by Marta Ferrer, Spain Catalonia)
- Coping with stakeholders and the media (by Cheryl Lamont and Gail McGreevy, Northern Ireland)
After each presentation there was time to ask questions and discuss. Via the links below you can download the presentations.

Recap: CEP Expert Group on Mental Health in Probation Meets

On 8–9 April 2026, the Expert Group on Mental Health in Probation convened in Dublin, Ireland, hosted by the Irish Probation Service. The meeting brought together 7 expert members from 7 European jurisdictions, Portugal, Ireland, Türkiye, Germany, Poland, Northern Ireland, England and Spain (Catalonia), alongside distinguished external speakers from international and academic institutions.
Chaired by Ana Cristina Neves, Head of Service at the Directorate-General of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP), Portugal, the meeting provided a focused and collaborative space to reflect on the group’s progress, consolidate key outputs, and define strategic priorities for the upcoming 2026–2028 mandate.
