CJPE Summer Course: Mental Health in Criminal Justice
Barcelona will host the 5th edition of the CJPE Summer Course, with the theme ‘Mental health issues in criminal justice’ (4 – 7 July 2023).
The stream offered by CEP will focus on The Challenge of Being Human – Mental Health at Work, from both the service-user and practitioner perspectives. It will include understanding the impact of trauma on our brain and body and how this links to mental health. The mental health presentations can impact the role and work with an emphasis on understanding distress rather than diagnosis. An opportunity to explore staff resilience in a critical occupation focusing on how to thrive at work, among other relevant topics. Expert speakers at this workshop will be Laura Bowden, Jo Clarke and Charlie Brooker.
This event is organised by CEP, EuroPris, European Forum for Restorative Justice and The Centre for Legal Studies and Specialised Training (CEJFE)

On Thursday 22 January, CEP hosted the first webinar of 2025 on the topic of Alternatives to Detention. The session led by Ms. Marina Pajoni from the French Prison and Probation Service titled „Problem Solving Justice in Pracitce: The Meuse Probation Service´s Approach to Drug Addiction“ introduced an innovative programme developed by the Meuse Probation Service in close cooperation with the French Ministry of Justice.

Interventions Alliance’s Eden House Recognized as Outstanding

CEP is delighted to share that Eden House, an Interventions Alliance residential service for women with high-risk or complex needs on probation, has been rated “Outstanding” overall by HM Inspectorate of Probation.
