Women’s Day

Yesterday was International Women’s Day.

At CEP, this day closely reflects our core values and ongoing commitment to promoting gender equality and addressing gender-based violence within the context of probation and community justice.

CEP recently introduced its Gender Equality and Diversity Policy, reaffirming our dedication to equality, non-discrimination, and inclusive practices across our organisation and activities.

Within our network, the CEP Expert Group on Gender-Based Violence brings together professionals and researchers from across Europe to exchange knowledge, strengthen cooperation, and enhance probation responses to gender-based violence.

We are also preparing our upcoming Summer Course, “She Matters: Gender-Specific Approaches to Women in Criminal Justice Settings”, which will focus on improving responses to the needs and realities of women and girls involved in criminal justice systems.

CEP aims to deepen understanding, share effective practices, and support more responsive and gender-informed approaches across probation services.

International Women’s Day is an important opportunity to highlight the importance of continuing this work together.
