Recap: CEP Expert Group meeting at ATGV Antalya
On 9 and 10 March 2026, the CEP Expert Group on Electronic Monitoring, along with representatives of the CEP Office led by Mr. Daniel Danglades, CEP Vice-President, visited the Education and Social Facility of the Ministry of Justice in Türkiye – ATGV Antalya. The host country was represented by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Director General Mr. Fatih Güngör, Head of the Turkish Probation Department Dr. Hüseyin Şık, Member of the CEP EM Expert Group Ms. Elçin Kilecioğlu, as well as the Director and representatives of the ATGV facility, and officials from the courts, prosecution, and probation services in Antalya.
The visit to the venue where the upcoming EM conference will be held from 6–8 October 2026 proved highly successful and productive. The location offers excellent facilities and an inspiring setting, providing the perfect environment for meaningful discussions, networking, and cooperation.
During the visit, CEP representatives held a very constructive and engaging meeting with their hosts. The warm welcome, professionalism, and strong commitment of the hosts clearly demonstrated that the conference is in capable hands. Discussions focused on organizational details, logistics, and opportunities to make the event truly impactful for all participants. Decisions were also made regarding the social programme to allow participants to fully experience Antalya.
In addition, the CEP EM Expert Group held a focused working meeting where key topics and program elements were discussed in depth. The dynamic and forward-looking exchange of ideas further strengthened the quality and relevance of the conference agenda.
Taken together, these developments confirm that preparations are progressing excellently. With such strong cooperation, outstanding organization, and a dedicated expert community, the upcoming conference promises to be a fantastic event not to be missed.

On 27 and 28 May 2026, Bucharest hosted the CEP Workshop on Caseload and Workload: Supporting Sustainable Probation Through the Human Dimension. With 40 participants representing 18 European jurisdictions, as well as delegates from South Korea, the workshop offered opportunities to exchange knowledge and develop strategies to manage the increasing caseload and workload in probation. Designed as an interactive space, it provided participants – practitioners, managers, researchers and experts – with reflections on current pressures within probation services and it explored practical, evidence‑informed solutions from across Europe.

On Tuesday 26 May 2026 CEP Expert Group on Caseload and Workload gathered in Bucharest, Romania, for its annual face-to-face meeting, held ahead of the Workshop on Caseload and Workload: Supporting Sustainable Probation Through the Human Dimension. Hosted by the National Probation Directorate, Ministry of Justice, Romania, the meeting was opened by the Deputy Director Diana Mustatea and CEP Secretary General Jana Å pero Kamenjarin. They both stressed the importance and relevance of the topic in supporting effective and sustainable approaches to caseload and workload management, contributing to improved outcomes for both staff and service delivery.
