French reentry courts and rehabilitation
Mister Jourdain of Desistance by Martine Herzog-Evans
Prof. Martine Herzog-Evans, criminologist of the Université de Reims, reserached for two year and a half the role and function of the Juge de l’application des peines (JAP), a French reentry and supervision judge which had never been empirically studied before. Prof. Herzog-Evans studied their pratices both from the qualitative and quatitative viewpoint. She abundantly refers to international literature, with a particular focus on ‘desistance’, ‘therapeutic jurisprudence’ and ‘legitimacy of justice’.

CEP at the 27th ICPA Conference in Istanbul

CEP SG Jana Spero Kamenjarin attended the 27th International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA) Conference, held in Istanbul, Türkiye. The conference brought together professionals, researchers, and policy experts from around the world to share insights and best practices. There were approximately 700 participants and the conference program consisted of 151 presentations.
