CEP visits member Interventions Alliance
On 16 June 2026, CEP Secretary General Jana Spero Kamenjarin and Communications Officer Hannan Amnad visited Interventions Alliance in the United Kingdom. During the visit, they met with Suki Binning, Chief Executive Officer, Ellie MacCarter, Chief Officer for Operations, Graham Wines, Chief Officer – People and Professional Standards, and Michael Baker, Deputy Chief Executive and Lead for Research and Communications, who also serves as Chair of CEP’s Expert Group on Communication and Awareness-Raising.
The meeting provided an opportunity to learn more about the work of Interventions Alliance and its commitment to supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system. The team presented the development of *Eden House*, an innovative Approved Premises for women, which provides a safe, trauma-informed environment focused on rehabilitation, reintegration and public protection.
The discussion also highlighted the value of CEP membership. Interventions Alliance reflected on how, during periods of significant change and uncertainty within the probation and criminal justice landscape in the United Kingdom, CEP has provided an important source of connection, support and professional exchange. The organisation emphasised the importance of continuous development, international cooperation and learning from practices across Europe.
As an organisation working with both victims and perpetrators, Interventions Alliance noted that many CEP conferences, expert meetings and thematic events are highly relevant to its work.
Interventions Alliance was recognised at the CEP Awards 2022, receiving the Public Protection Award for Eden House, Approved Premises for Women. The award acknowledged the organisation’s innovative and trauma-informed approach to supporting women in the criminal justice system while promoting rehabilitation and public protection.
The visit reaffirmed the strong relationship between CEP and Interventions Alliance and underlined a shared commitment to advancing rehabilitation, supporting victims and perpetrators, and contributing to safer communities across Europe.
CEP would like to warmly thank Interventions Alliance for their continued active participation in CEP events and for their kind hospitality during the visit.
