CEP Member visit to the Probation Service in Albania
On 22 April 2026, The Confederation of European Probation carried out a member visit to the Probation Service in Albania, where the delegation was warmly welcomed by Ms Irma Bime, newly appointed Director General for Probation, and Mr Erid Sheshi, Director of Electronic Monitoring and Head of the Probation Office in Tirana.
CEP was represented by Ms Jana Spero Kamenjarin, Secretary General, and Mr Daniel Danglades, Vice President.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on both past and future cooperation, as well as to highlight the significant achievements of probation in Albania. Particular attention was given to the development of training and the use of electronic monitoring as key areas for continued progress.
The Albanian probation system currently operates with 147 staff members across the country, supervising approximately 10 000 probation cases.
The visit confirmed a shared commitment to strengthening professional practice and collaboration across Europe.
