CEP visit to Poland
On 9th April 2024, CEP Secretary General (SG) Jana Spero had a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Justice in Poland Ms Maria Ejchart and her team (Michał Chrościelewski, Tomasz Gajewski, Dariusz Palmirski and Krzysztof Mycka).
The Polish Ministry of Justice expressed interest in becoming a CEP member as Poland is working hard to make changes in the probation field towards the best European practices.
On the same day, CEP SG gave a presentation at the Prison Service Training Centre in Popowo (Poland) as part of the agenda for “Dynamic security training for staff serving in pilot penitentiary complexes”, with the participation of representatives from probation service and judges.

Recap: Workshop on Caseload and Workload

On 27 and 28 May 2026, Bucharest hosted the CEP Workshop on Caseload and Workload: Supporting Sustainable Probation Through the Human Dimension. With 40 participants representing 18 European jurisdictions, as well as delegates from South Korea, the workshop offered opportunities to exchange knowledge and develop strategies to manage the increasing caseload and workload in probation. Designed as an interactive space, it provided participants – practitioners, managers, researchers and experts – with reflections on current pressures within probation services and it explored practical, evidence‑informed solutions from across Europe.
