From December 8th to 12th, CEP Boardmember Daniel Danglades led a 5-day training program titled “Strengthening the Role of Penal Institutions in the Rehabilitation of Inmates and Reducing the Recurrence of Crime.”
The event was hosted by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with support from the UNODC and NAUSS.
Mr. Danglades was invited as an expert representing France. During his training, he collaborated with European colleagues to showcase best practices from Europe, including contributions from CEP President Annie Devos and CEP Secretary General Jana Spero Kamenjarin.
The training program covered a range of critical topics, including rehabilitation strategies, alternatives to imprisonment, mental health and substance abuse, reentry and post-release support systems, probation frameworks from a European perspective, justice reform, detention facilities, small-scale and differentiated community integration approaches, and relevant policy frameworks.
