From 10 to 12 October 2024, CEP Secretary General Jana Spero Kamenjarin was a speaker at the 11th Annual Evaluation Meeting of Probation Directors in Turkiye. The meeting for all Probation Directors was organised by the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses in the training center in Antalya with the participation of the General Director Mr. Enis Yavuz Yıldırım, Deputy Director Mr Fatih Güngör, Head of the Probation Department Dr. Hüseyin Şik and other colleagues from the Headquarters.

Over 150 professionals addressed the most important topics for the probation service during the two-day meeting.

Director General Yıldırım gave a speech at the opening ceremony, highlighting the importance of probation. He said that probation services are the future of execution.

CEP Secretary General Spero Kamenjarin had a presentation titled Probation System from a European Perspective.

During the visit, CEP SG had an opportunity to discuss future cooperation between Turkiye and CEP. It was decided to organise the International Probation Conference in Antalya in 2025. More details will come soon.
