On Thursday 19 September, participants gathered online for the 4th Webinar held by CEP in 2024, this time on the topic of Technology. Organized in collaboration with the Expert Group on Technology, the session introduced the forthcoming Practice Recommendations regarding technologies in probation. Pia Andersson, Chair of the Expert Group (Prison and Probation Service of Finland), along with member David A. Raho (HMPPS, England and Wales), guided participants through the document, which is set to be published in October 2024.

The Practice Recommendations regarding technologies in probation is a comprehensive document whose purpose is, among others, to support jurisdictions to consider identified issues before developing and using technology, undergoing digitalisation or considering hybrid working models. It includes a collection of best practices and a checklist designed to help organizations navigate the introduction of new technologies effectively.

CEP would like to thank the Expert Group on Technology for their commitment and all year of work to finish the practice recommendations.

The presentation can be found here.
