Have you ever wondered what’s really behind the doors of the Court of Justice of the EU?
Course details
The Commission, in collaboration with the CJEU, has produced a series of 6 training videos. They provide concrete knowledge and hands-on advice to help you prepare your next encounter.
Target audience
Judiciary, lawyers, and other justice professionals. Judiciary, lawyers, and other justice professionals, as well as agents acting before the CJEU. Primary lawyers, other legal practitioners and agents acting before the CJEU, judiciary, as well as all justice professionals. Judiciary, lawyers, and other justice professionals, specifically those involved in direct actions to the General Court. Primary judges, members of national courts and tribunals (within the meaning of Article 267 TFEU), as well as all justice professionals. Primary lawyers, other legal practitioners and agents acting before the CJEU, as well as all justice professionals.
Learning objectives
- The CJEU jurisdiction, composition, and types of actions handled
- The main tasks of the Court of Justice and of the General Court
- Case-law establishing some of the basic structural principles governing the EU institutional and judicial system
- The role on national courts in judicial dialogue, building multi-levelled constitutionalism in Europe
- The essence of the cooperation between the Court of Justice and the national courts and tribunals
- Procedural rules regarding the written part of the procedure
- Various proce
- dural matters concerning submissions, the language regime, etc
- Skills to present legal arguments during the written and the oral phases of the proceedings

CEP participated at the 14th Annual General Meeting of EuroPris

On 23 September 2025, in Krakow, Poland, Jana Spero Kamenjarin, CEP Secretary General, participated in the 14th AGM of EuroPris.
Program of AGM constituted of Annual and Financial report for 2024; Planning 2025/2026; report from the Staff Exchange Programme, Future Expert group topics and Measures to prevent and reduce Prison Overcrowding. Also, there were parallel workshops on the topics of Staff Wellbeing, Future of Prisons and Prison Security.
Board elections also took place. CEP would like to thank Caron MaCaffrey, departing president, for excellent cooperation in the previous period, and CEP congratulates Mr Jan-Erik Sandlie (Norway), elected President and Ms Ioana Morar (Romania), elected Vice-President.
At the end of the program, a ceremony for the Prison Achievement Award took place, and CEP took this opportunity to congratulate Türkiye on receiving this important award.

The Expert Workshop held on September 10–11, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium, brought together senior managers, probation practitioners, criminal justice professionals such as lawyers and prosecutors from across Europe as well as representatives of the European Commission, Academy of European Law and European Judicial Network to discuss the advancements in the implementation of Framework Decisions 2008/947/JHA and 2009/829/JHA. Hosted at the Houses of Justice, the CEP Expert Workshop served as a dynamic platform for mutual learning, collaboration, and strategic planning.

CEP at ESC 2025: Penal Policy Transfer and Ageing in Prison in Focus

The Confederation of European Probation (CEP) had a strong presence at the 25th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology (EUROCRIM 2025), held in Athens from 3 to 6 September 2025. As one of Europe’s largest gatherings of criminologists, the ESC annual conference brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to exchange knowledge on crime, justice, and social responses. This year’s theme was “Logos of Crime and Punishment,” inspired by classical Greek philosophy.
