CEP webinar on “Far right extremism”
On 6th October 2020 CEP organized a webinar on “Violent Far Right Extremism and Exit”. Keynote presenter was Mr. Robert Örell, member of the steering committee of the EU RAN (Radicalisation Awareness Network).
He spoke about the phenomenon of right wing extremism, the ideology of the offenders, their mindset, their sources of inspiration and their view on the world and society. He also described the several attacks that have taken place between 1980 and 2020.
In the last part of his presentation he mentioned the importance of “Exit work” – the leaving of extremist ideology by working towards a new identity.
After the presentation professor Ioan Durnescu from the University of Bucharest led an interactive session of questions and discussion between himself, Robert Örell and the public.

Delegation from Azerbaijan visits CEP Office in Utrecht

On 23 June, a delegation from Azerbaijan visited the CEP office in Utrecht, the Netherlands. The delegation included representatives of the Probation Service, Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan and representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Netherlands. The visit to the CEP office was part of a broader learning programme with Reclassering Nederland.
