Recap: Restitution on Criminal Justice Crossover Training

On Friday morning, June 21st, the online event: “Restitution on Criminal Justice Crossover Training 7-8th of March” was hosted in Italy. The event was organised by Benedetta Venezia, Director of the Probation District of Brescia, Viviana Porcino, Probation Officer in Reggio Calabria, and Daniela Arieti, an expert in restorative justice programs. Special guests included Jana Spero (CEP), Gustav Tallving (EuroPris), and Edit Torzs (ERFJ), who represented prominent European organizations in the criminal justice realm such as CEP, EuroPris/the European Penitentiary Training Academies Network (EPTA), and European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ)

The event, enriched by insights from Marianna Passalacqua, Emilio Molinari, and Rocco Scicchitano from the Calabria Probation Directorate, proved to be enlightening.

This gathering was inspired by the Criminal Justice Crossover Training held on March 7th-8th in The Hague. The Hague event, organized by the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC),  EuroPristhe European Penitentiary Training Academies Network (EPTA) and the European Forum for Restorative Justice (EFRJ), united professionals from prison, probation, and restorative justice sectors. Deliberations underscored the significance of inter-sectoral collaboration, featuring country-specific action plans and workshops addressing mutual challenges to enhance cooperation within the criminal justice system. Read more.
