Call for papers | Workshop on Transition from Prison to Probation: Continuity of Care and Control

CEP and EuroPris, the two network organisations gathering probation and prison services from across Europe, invite you to submit your proposals to present in the Workshop on Transition from Prison to Probation: Continuity of Care and Control which will take place on 2 and 3 December 2025 in Barcelona, Catalonia-Spain.

The workshop will bring together professionals working primarily within prison and probation services who accompany the offenders in the process of reintegration into society from the day one of their sentence. Registration will open in May/June 2025.

Call for papers including instructions can be downloaded here. The deadline to submit is 14 April 2025 at mirka@cep-probation.org.

  • to discuss the challenges with high-risk offenders and how to provide coordinated measures to contribute to successful transition, rehabilitation and reintegration (early release schemes, preventive detention etc);
  • to learn about the ICT advancements which bring numerous opportunities for better collaboration between prison and probation services, especially for managing high-risk offenders and those involved in organized crime;
  • to share good practices and discuss programs and initiatives (including medical, mental health, addiction, and other rehabilitation needs) that have proven successful in reducing recidivism and supporting the successful transition of individuals into society.
