Delegation from South Korea Received at CEP Office in Barcelona

On 10th April 2025, a delegation from the South Korean Ministry of Justice visited the CEP office in Barcelona located at the Centre for Legal Studies and Judicial Training. events and professional collaboration.

Three professionals from South Korea representing the Probation Service visited the CEP office in Barcelona. During the meeting CEP presented CEP´s aims, objectives, strategical documents, and CEP annual plan for 2025, inviting colleagues to participate at international events, in particular CEP events for non-members such as the Criminal Justice Summer Course and the International Training School on Core correctional Skills (more information soon published) as well as the series of Webinars on different topics related to Probation. The South Korean delegation presented their Directorate for Probation Service including its structure and intervention programs.

Marc Cerón i Riera, Director of the Centre for Legal Studies and Judicial Training, former CEP President and current Honorary member also accompanied the visit and presented and explained the work of the Centre for Legal Studies and the link with CEP and other European network organisations.

CEP and South Korea both expressed their wish to continue with regular participation at events and professional collaboration.

On 8–9 April 2026, the Expert Group on Mental Health in Probation convened in Dublin, Ireland, hosted by the Irish Probation Service. The meeting brought together 7 expert members from 7 European jurisdictions, Portugal, Ireland, Türkiye, Germany, Poland, Northern Ireland, England and Spain (Catalonia), alongside distinguished external speakers from international and academic institutions.

Chaired by Ana Cristina Neves, Head of Service at the Directorate-General of Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP), Portugal, the meeting provided a focused and collaborative space to reflect on the group’s progress, consolidate key outputs, and define strategic priorities for the upcoming 2026–2028 mandate.
