The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has updated its online criminal detention database, which includes national standards, laws, and monitoring reports on detention conditions in the EU and the UK.

On Thursday, 15 May 2025, CEP attended the 50th anniversary symposium of the International Bureau (Bureau Buitenland) of the Dutch Probation Service (Reclassing Nederland), held at “De Lik” in Utrecht. Although the International Bureau is relatively young compared to the Dutch Probation Service with over 200 years of history, it has developed a solid track record through its international focus and strong commitment to working with volunteers. On 9 May 2025, CEP Board Member Joachim Tein presented at the annual conference of the German Directors Generals (DGs) in probation. A key forum for leaders from across Germany’s probation services. This 3-day event is known for its hands-on agenda, this year covering topics like AI and digital tools in probation, cooperation in further education, legal developments, and security.

From 6 to 7 May, the CEP Conference on the Public Perception of Probation in Europe took place in Antalya, Türkiye, bringing together over 100 participants from more than 20 countries. The event offered space for open discussion, exchange of experiences, and practical ideas on how probation is seen and supported across Europe.
