Recap: Seminar on Domestic Violence in Brussels
The Directorate-General for the Houses of Justice organised a lunch-to-lunch meeting on Domestic Violence for probation service managers in Brussels on March 13th-14th, 2024.
This event, part of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union, received support from the Confederation of European Probation (CEP) and the Belgian National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology (INCC/NICC).
Under the guidance of Director General Annie Devos, who also serves as CEP president, and moderated by Jana Spero, CEP Secretary General, the meeting delved into key topics including the European and Belgian regulatory frameworks, as well as various forms of intervention against domestic violence. Additionally, the event provided opportunities for audience participation, fostering discussions and sharing of ideas. Directors General (DGs) from various European countries were present, contributing to the diverse range of perspectives on tackling domestic violence within probation services.
