Expert Group Meeting On Research
The Expert Group on Research met on 17 February at the CEP office in Utrecht, The Netherlands, for its annual face‑to‑face meeting.

Building on the discussions held during the online meeting in November 2025, the aim was to continue the discussion on strategic priorities and practical steps for implementing the newly developed Research and Development Strategy.
To support and coordinate the practical rollout of the Strategy, a new Research Policy Officer will be recruited in 2026. The Expert Group provided input to assist the CEP office in drafting the initial framework for this new role.
The update of Probation in Europe is progressing, with experts offering comments and guidance on both the structure and content of the publication.
