15th CEP General Assembly and CEP International Conference on Gender-Based Violence

We’re pleased to announce that the 15th CEP General Assembly will take place on 15 October 2025 in Vienna, Austria.

The event will begin the evening before, on 14 October at 19:00 CET, with a welcome reception at the Ministry of Justice in Vienna. The General Assembly itself will start on 15 October at 09:00 CET.

Immediately after the Assembly, we will host a two-day public conference, “Gender- Based Violence in Probation: Challenges and Lessons Learned,” organised in partnership with our Austrian member Neustart and dedicated to one of the most pressing and complex issues facing probation systems today: Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Experts, practitioners, and policymakers from across Europe will gather to explore innovative responses, share good practices, and discuss the challenges of addressing GBV within probation frameworks.

Program

The event will begin the evening before, on 14 October at 19:00 CET, with a welcome reception at the Ministry of Justice in Vienna.

The General Assembly itself will start on 15 October at 09:00 CET.

The General Assembly is held every three years and is open exclusively to CEP members and is free of charge. It is an important moment to reflect on what we’ve achieved and determine the direction of CEP for the coming years.

Items on the agenda will include:

  • A report on CEP’s activities since the last General Assembly
  • A proposed revision of the CEP Statute and Internal Regulations
  • Approval of new members
  • Goals and activities for the next three years
  • Financial statement and budget updates
  • Election of new CEP Board members, including Vice-Presidents and the President

Immediately after the Assembly, we will host a two-day public conference, “Gender-Based Violence in Probation: Challenges and Lessons Learned,” organised in partnership with our Austrian member Neustart and dedicated to one of the most pressing and complex issues facing probation systems today: Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Experts, practitioners, and policymakers from across Europe will gather to explore innovative responses, share good practices, and discuss the challenges of addressing GBV within probation frameworks.

The programme offers insights into offender rehabilitation, interagency cooperation, and victim perspectives. This event provides a unique platform to exchange experiences and strengthen our collective approach to combating GBV in community sanctions and measures.

The conference is open to everyone and will take place from 15 October at 14:00 CET to 16 October at 16:00 CET.

On the evening of 15 October, we warmly invite all participants to join us for a Conference Dinner and the CEP Awards Ceremony, a moment to connect, share experiences, and celebrate outstanding work.
