A group of four researches has started a project that aims to share knowledge and improve understanding about why people desist from offending, it is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (UK). Project leader is Fergus McNeill and the other members of the project team are Stephen Farrall, Claire Lightowler and Shadd Maruna representing different research institutions. The researchers are actively blogging at the Discovering Desistance blog and are also producing a documentary that will explore the issues related to desisting from crime. People who are in the ‘desistance process’ in- and outside the UK, or other related persons, were invited to be interviewed about their journey to desistance.
