On October 18, SPIP91 hosted a departmental day focused on probation across Europe, organised with the support of Daniel Danglades, CEP board member and Deputy Head of the European and International Relations of Probation and Prison. Among the guests were Iuliana Carbunaru, CEP Vice-President and Inspector with the Romanian Probation Services, Ioan Durnescu, Professor at the University of Bucharest and CEP Honorary Member and Ana Cristina Neves, Senior Officer in the Portuguese Probation Service and a CEP member of the preparatory group for the 13th Electronic Monitoring (EM) Conference.
The event featured presentations on the probation systems in Romania and Portugal, alongside a general overview of European practices. Participants exchanged insights on European probation systems, discussed methods, and explored common challenges, such as the use of technology in supervision.
