CEP launches an interactive European map of probation education and training institution contacts
The CEP is pleased to inform its members that a new dedicated section has been developed on the CEP website featuring an interactive map of Europe.
This map identifies the institution responsible for the education and training of probation officers in each country and provides the corresponding contact details. Click here to view the map or see below.
This initiative responds to the mandate of the CEP Expert Network on Education and Training in Probation and constitutes a concrete outcome of the network’s work during the last period.
Institutions responsible for the education and training of probation officers that are not yet included in the map and would like to be added are kindly invited to contact the CEP Policy and Liaison Officer, Anna Esquerrà Roqueta, at anna@cep-probation.org
The expert network on education and training is also currently finalising its Technical Recommendations on Mentoring in the Context of Probation Training, which will soon be completed and made available to all CEP members.

CEP Vice-President Daniel Danglades, Ambassador Gerry McNally and Policy Officer Mirka Jakesova participated in the Seminar on Framework Decisions 829 and 947 and their Impact on Alternatives in the EU organized under the EU project run by the Academy of European Law on 28-29 September in Bucharest, Romania. The seminar brought together judges, prosecutors, probation practitioners, academics, and policy experts to discuss the growing role of alternatives to detention within European criminal justice systems.Â

CEP and Catalan justice leaders reaffirm longstanding cooperation

Representatives of the Confederation of European Probation (CEP) met with senior officials from the Catalan Department of Justice and Democratic Quality in Barcelona on 28 September 2026, alongside the opening of the sixth International Training School on Core Correctional Skills. The meeting offered an opportunity to recognise a longstanding partnership and discuss its continued development.

The 22nd episode of Division_Y features Bernd Kammermeier from Rostock, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Bernd is a unionist, practitioner and academic expert on supervision of conduct (Führungsaufsicht) in Germany. His recent PhD thesis examines the development and legal framework of this important instrument.
