CEP at the 15th Annual General Meeting of EuroPris

On 2 June 2026, Jana Špero Kamenjarin, Secretary General CEP, represented CEP at the 15th Annual General Meeting(AGM) of EuroPris in Valletta, hosted by the Maltese Correctional Services Agency.

The AGM provided a valuable opportunity to connect with the EuroPris Board and Secretariat, as well as Directors General and Deputy Directors General from across Europe, and to reflect on perspectives that increasingly encompass both prison and probation services. The programme included key updates from EuroPris, Board elections, and discussions on emerging challenges facing correctional services, including psychoactive substances, prison overcrowding, and organisational resilience.

During the event, the EuroPris Prison Achievement Award 2026 was also presented. CEP Secretary General Jana Špero Kamenjarin served on the Award Selection Committee and was honoured to contribute to the recognition of innovative practices in European prisons. CEP warmly congratulates Les Baumettes Prison, winner of the 2026 Prison Achievement Award, for its project “Les Beaux Mets – A Culinary Pathway to Rehabilitation”, which demonstrates the transformative potential of rehabilitation through vocational training, social inclusion, and partnership with the community.

CEP warmly congratulates Rait Kuuse on his election as the new President of EuroPris. A former CEP Board Member, Mr Kuuse has long contributed to strengthening European cooperation in the field of corrections. CEP wishes him every success in his new role and looks forward to continuing the close collaboration between our organisations.
