Ruth Armstrong

Dr Ruth Armstrong is the Research and Policy Officer of the Confederation of European Probation (CEP) since July 2024. She is also a criminological researcher at the University of Liverpool. Ruth holds a degree in Law with American Law from the University of Nottingham (UK) and Texas (USA) (2001) and a Master’s and PhD in Criminology from the University of Cambridge (2012). Over her career, Ruth has led research on experiences of imprisonment and life after prison for staff and people under supervision in England and Wales and globally, advised governments and international bodies on practice and policy changes and law reform, and worked with senior leaders in criminal justice in governments and non-profit organisations to support systems change.
