20th anniversary of Probation Service in Türkiye
CEP had the privilege of participating in the Turkish Probation System 20th Year International Congress, marking the 20th anniversary of the Probation Service in Türkiye, held from 1–3 December 2025 at ATGV in Antalya.
On this occasion, CEP Secretary General Jana Spero Kamenjarin delivered the keynote speech, “Building Safe Communities: Strengthening Probation Through International Cooperation.”
It was an excellent and highly dynamic event that brought together more than 500 participants from various countries, including practitioners, policymakers, and researchers.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and reflect on the development and future of probation services. The diversity of perspectives and expertise enriched every discussion and highlighted the importance of international cooperation in strengthening community-based sanctions and measures.
Sincere thanks go to the hosts: Director General of Prisons and Detention Houses, Mr. Enis Yavuz Yıldırım; Deputy Director General, Mr. Fatih Güngör; Head of the Probation Department; and Dr. Hüseyin Şık, for their warm hospitality, exceptional organization, and dedication to advancing the field of probation.
The Probation Service in Türkiye has been a very active member of CEP since 2015.
CEP congratulates our colleagues in Türkiye on this important milestone and the impressive progress achieved over the past two decades.
