On 20 February 2025, the Council of Europe and the European Union, in partnership with the DGAPR (the Moroccan Directorate-General for Prisons and Reintegration), organised the launch of the MA-JUST 2024-2027 Programme in Rabat, Morocco.

The programme aims to:

• strengthen and extend judicial protection of rights and freedoms
• improve access to the law and justice for all, including the most vulnerable
• increase the efficiency of the justice system.

Annie Devos and Daniel Danglades, together with Pedro Yves Diaz Barrionuevo (Catalonia) and Antonio Marcelo dos Reis(Portugal), presented their feedback on electronic monitoring, community service, coordination between the parties involved, as well as guides and other procedural manuals.

The commitment of the DGAPR top management made for rich and fruitful discussions.
