There is still an opportunity to submit proposals for the action grants within the framework of the specific programme "Criminal Justice". The deadline is 15 of September 2010, at 16.00. The aims of the Criminal Justice programme include several objectives, including to promote judicial cooperation based on mutual recognition, improving contacts and sharing best practices.

Criminal Justice
On 12 February 2007, the European Parliament and the Council decided to establish the ‘Criminal Justice' programme to strengthen the area of Freedom, Security and Justice over the period 2007-2013. The budget allocated to this specific programme for 2010 is €26m, of which €10m will be allocated to action grants for the co-financing of transnational and national projects grants.

Scope
The action grant set several priorities, among others, to improve mutual knowledge and exchange best practice between member states. Of particular interest are the objectives to develop common projects in the administration of justice and case management, including offender assessment, and the implementation of EU instruments and detention conditions.
