• Are you employed in the criminal justice system?
• Do you deal with non resident EU nationals who are suspected of a criminal offense?
• Do you wonder if supervision measures as an alternative to pre-trial detention are possible in these cases?
If so, then this cross border workshop is intended for you!!
With the introduction of Framework Decision 829, supervision measures as an alternative to pre-trial detention can be transferred within the EU. As a result, the suspect stays in his home country during the suspension of the pre-trial detention.
Workshop on 21 and 22 September 2017
In order to be able to organize this European Framework Decision, it is important to share knowledge and experience.
For this reason, The International Office of the Dutch Probation Service (Bureau Buitenland) in cooperation with the Public Prosecutor will organize this Cross Border Workshop on 21 and 22 September.
The costs for your trip and stay in the Netherlands will be reimbursed by the European Union. The EU wants to stimulate the sharing of knowledge in this area.
Registration for participation in this workshop may take place until 14 July 2017 via email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
The workshop is intended for Spanish and French prosecutors and judges who are authorized to take decisions concerning the suspension of pre-trial detainees.
During the workshop we will take practical knowledge and experience from the practice of the legal framework. The workshop also offers a nice opportunity to network, identify competent authorities regarding Framework Decision 829 and strengthen existing contacts.
We will welcome everyone on 21 September at 13:00 for a first meeting in Utrecht.
At 7 pm we will have dinner together.
The program will then be closed at 13:00 on 22 September.
Participation is free.
Travel (economy class) and accommodation costs are reimbursed.
After registration further details will follow.
